Doug Mitchell is the founder and director of NPR’s Next Generation Radio Project and co-founder of The Journalism Diversity Project, and co-founder of NewU, a program designed to help journalists of color start their own media-related businesses.

Next Generation Radio is a series of one-week, student radio training projects co-sponsored by NPR and several journalist and media organizations. The projects are designed to give students who are interested in radio and journalism an opportunity to report and produce their own radio story. The project offers teaching sessions in several areas: recording techniques, writing, voice and on-air presentation, and audio production.
