Marcus Ellis has been working within District of Columbia government for 18 years. His service has included serving as Associate Director for the Department of Recreation, Director of Athletics for the DC Public School System, and Superintendent of the District of Columbia’s New Beginnings Youth Development Center. He has dedicated his career to serving the youth of the District of Columbia.
In his current role, Mr. Ellis manages Safer, Stronger DC Community Partnerships Office under Mayor Bowser. His office is focused on reducing violence in six target Police Service Areas that statistically have shown high trends of violent activity. Through community building his office is charged with connecting residents to resources via a streamlined approach that will allow for improved partnership with government.
Marcus has dedicated his career to serving the residents of the District of Columbia and is excited about the plans that Mayor Bowser has for moving our violence prevention efforts forward.
