Shawn Dove, CEO and founder of the Campaign for Black Male Achievement, gave the opening keynote address at the #InclusiveAmerica learning lab at the NABJ/NAHJ 2016 on Aug. 3. After his speech, he dropped into the NABJ press room to be interviewed about his campaign’s effort to invest and empower black men and boys.

Dove joined a slate of “movement leaders,” he said, to offer a comprehensive look at the issues of inclusion, from systemic violence, entrepreneurship and competitiveness. CMBA, under Dove’s leadership played a key role in the launch of My Brother’s Keeper, President Barack Obama’s legacy initiative to value and invest in black men and boys.
